The owners of the Brand and Distillery
Los Tres Toños is the Reynosos Crown Jewel brand. Founded by Don Dionisio, dad to Roberto and Fernando. The Brand was meant to represent the families legacy, as fourth generation agave farmers, focusing on the raw material and processing it in the traditional way that gives the smoky flavour. Los Tres Toños will allways be a true agavero Tequila, not fancy not cheap just honest.
Production details
The agave used in production are grown in the plains outside Amatitán just east of the town of Tequila, which often provides both citrus and herbs. The family's cows and horses graze on the agave fields which is one of the reasons herbizides and pestisides are not used.

Manufacturing and aging

Los Tres Toños made in a special way - parts of the agave used is baked in a brick oven and the rest slightly roasted in a pressure cooker, giving their tequila a more or less distinct smokiness. The Fermentation of the extracted juices is performed in open stainless still basins an the distillation in big stainless steal pot stills. The aging of Los Tres Toños is done in a
over ground warehouse containing more than 1000 barrels. All of them bought on the second or third hand market and restored. Wandering in the warehouse you will find Grand Marnier, Woodford Reserv and barrels from disstilleries that stoped exising thirty years ago. When doing a bathc of Los Tres Toños aged varaities the masterblender picks from several different barrels to get the true Tres Toños flavour.
